A glorious tour of Italian organ music of the fourteenth through nineteenth centuries, performed on six "storici" instruments of the same periods and regions by organists who know these instruments intimately. Composers as familiar as Gabrieli and Frescobaldi are joined by names that will be a marvelous discovery for many. The unique and wonderful character of the Italian pipe organ is fleshed out here by an ambient approach to recording, giving the listener a sense of the space that houses each instrument.
